Product Composition

The tablet contains essential supplements like berberin, purslane, gymnema sylyestre leaf extract, banaba leaf extract, essential vitamins and magnesium which is used to treat symptoms of diabetes. In diabetes having a healthy diet (which includes mini-fasting) and exercising regularly are necessary to lower blood sugar levels. But nutritional support is also a key component because diabetes is a 'nutritional wasting disease' and most experts make no attempt to replace the losses and allow their patients to overcome the nutritional deficiencies. Elevated glucose levels act like a diuretic and cause substantial loss of nutrients in the urine. Therefore, people with type 2 diabetes are likely to be deficient in important water-soluble vitamins and minerals. A second reason nutritional supplements for diabetes are essential is that carefully increasing your intake of nutrients that support your body's ability to use insulin can help keep your blood sugar at healthy levels and its associated complications.

About Composition:

Berberine is a bioactive compound that can be extracted from several different plants, including a group of shrubs called Berberis. Technically, it belongs to a class of compounds called alkaloids. It has a yellow color, and has often been used as a dye. It has been shown to have powerful effects on many different biological systems. Its metabolic activity of regulating blood glucose and lipids has been widely studied and evidenced in patients and various animal models. Berberine is known as an AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activator. Its insulin-independent hypoglycemic effect is related to inhibition of mitochondrial function, stimulation of glycolysis and activation of AMPK pathway. Additionally, berberine may also act as an a-glucosidase inhibitor. In the newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients, berberine is able to lower blood insulin level via enhancing insulin sensitivity. However, in patients with poor ß-cell function, berberine may improve insulin secretion via resuscitating exhausted islets. Furthermore, berberine may have extra beneficial effects on diabetic cardiovascular complications due to its cholesterol-lowering, anti-arrhythmias and nitric oxide (NO) inducing properties. The antioxidant and aldose reductase inhibitory activities of berberine may be useful in alleviating diabetic nephropathy. Purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) is an annual succulent herb and shows antioxidant activity and anti-diabetic properties. Oral administration of Purslane extract could significantly increase the body weight and significantly improve the glucose tolerance. Significantly, it reduce the FBG level, and elevate the FINS level and ISI value in diabetic rats. In addition, Purslane extract could significantly reduce TNF-a and IL-6 levels in diabetic patients; CPOP could also reduce MDA and SOD activities in the liver tissue.

Gymnema sylvestre contains gymnemic acid which shows antidiabetic, antisweetener and anti-inflammatory activities. Gymnemic acid formulations have also been found useful against obesity, according to recent reports. This is attributed to the ability of gymnemic acids to delay the glucose absorption in the blood. The atomic arrangement of gymnemic acid molecules is similar to that of glucose molecules. These molecules fill the receptor locations on the taste buds thereby preventing its activation by sugar molecules present in the food, thereby curbing the sugar craving. Similarly, Gymnemic acid molecules fill the receptor location in the absorptive external layers of the intestine thereby preventing the sugar molecules absorption by the intestine, which results in low blood sugar level. Banaba leaf extract, which comes from Asia, is another herbal extract worth adding to your arsenal. This herb contains corosolic acid, which promotes glucose transport into cells, keeping blood sugar on an even keel. It can inhibit uptake (digestion and absorption) of carbohydrates to a degree, and can also aid in their deposition into cells from the blood stream (resulting in a reduction in blood sugar).

Vitamin B6:

⇒ Needed by the body to use and store protein and carbohydrates from food (in the form of glycogen, stored energy in the muscles and liver)
⇒ Required for more than 100 enzyme reactions in the body. It aids in the formation of hemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that carries oxygen through the blood) and neurotransmitters and hormones that influence mood and regulate the body's clock
⇒ Involved in immune function and brain development and function

Vitamin B12:
⇒ Helps keep the nervous system and red blood cells healthy
⇒ Required for the formation of red blood cells and DNA
⇒ Important for protein metabolism

Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin and is a part of the vitamin B family. It's also known as vitamin H. Biotin helps in converting certain nutrients into energy. It also plays an important role in the health of your hair, skin, and nails.

Vitamin C is needed by the body to form collagen. The body also uses vitamin C to make skin, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. It also uses this vitamin to repair and maintain cartilage, bones and teeth, to heal wounds and to form scar tissue.

Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium. Vitamin D3 is used as a dietary supplement in people who do not get enough vitamin D in their diets to maintain adequate health. Vitamin D is used to treat and prevent bone disorders (such as rickets, osteomalacia). Vitamin E is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that includes eight naturally occurring compounds in two classes designated as tocopherols and tocotrienols. Vitamin E is an effective chain-breaking, lipid-soluble antioxidant in biological membranes, and aids in membrane stability. One of the most important functions of this vitamin is its antioxidant properties.

Magnesium plays an important role in relaying signals between your brain and body. Magnesium is required for more than 300 biochemical reactions occurring in the body. It regulates normal nerve and muscle function, supports a healthy immune system, keeps the heartbeat steady, and helps bones remain strong. It also helps adjust blood glucose levels. It is also involved energy production and protein synthesis.
